    Default Sports Hub grass

So the whole issue is due to the design of the stadium that doesn't let in sufficient light. Even permanently keeping the roof open won't solve it apparently. All that after the hoo-haa about how innovative the design of the stadium is. Lighting the grass with special lights don't sound like the long term solution. Oh well, just use artificial turf lor. What to do? Dismantle the whole thing and do again meh?

I believe you have mistaken the innovative intentions that drove the new stadium. The innovation lies in turning a stadium into a money spinner. You thought the bloody grass was on their to-do list? Nope, it's about how much retail space they can squeeze into it and how much return they can yield. Who cares about what team Brazil and Japan think? These people don't speak louder than $$$.

This was perfectly fine for a soccer match. Too bad, it couldn't self sustain.....

Nothing to do with the stadium design, they chose the wrong type of grass / artificial ratio or type of grass to plant according to the intended high usage of the field. Many covered stadium even in winter country don't have this problem.

Close down all public toilet facilities in Sport Hub and let people do their things on the turf to fertilise the grass.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

    Good advice!

Besides settling the grass issue, we also centralized everyone with that kinky hobby of doing business big or small in public. No more peeing or pooing near smrt station. Hurrah!!

Did you know that many stadiums around the world have artificial lighting for the green? And that's not a temporary solution. Knowledge really helps.

This is always the challenge. Not enough time given for the project to complete (rush, rush, rush) then trying pack too many events even before the place is ready. The only development I notice received the best preparation is hotel. It is the image and the operator insist that due to Branding.

It's ok lah. Learn something new everyday. Anyway, still think in a tropical sunny island like ours, using artificial light don't make sense lor. It's like saying "don't you know everywhere people use dryers for their laundry? Why Singapore so backwards still use teck koh?"

Surely this cannot be paid by tax payers. They were advised but go against it. On what ground and how to account for the losses the decision making body has to be held responsible.

I believe the payments that our government is paying SHPL over 25 years is fixed. SHPL is supposed to run the Sports Hub and turn a profit while doing so. I really doubt the government would be forking out a single cent for this change to artificial turf.
