confused about IR for FZ20

erm basically kinda confuse about this..i have to test my FZ 20 to see if i am able to do this right? so must find dark area, press remote and take it with fz20 at 1/100 if there is a red spot then can work if not then i can forget about it right?

IIRC FZ20 does allow you to take IR shots. but you're gonna encounter long shutter times to get the right exposure.
