Default shooting fireworks

hi....can anybody tell me what is the camera setting to shoot fireworks? I am using a D70. I used the bulb mode yesterday on manual focus at f8..but it seems the shutter speed was immediate...i thought the shutter spped would depend on me depressing the shutter release button again....

If you are using BULB, then a remote release is necessary, isn't it?

a remote on the d-70? so if im using bulb mode, i need to buy a remote controller. i never tried bulb mode before, but to my knowledge when u first press the shutter release button, it will open the shutter and u need to depress it the second time for it to close the shutter. please advice..

Bulb mode will fire when you depress, and the shutter will close when you let go, it doesn't close the shutter when you depress again.

Even for the MC20/30, after you release then the shutter will close.

If you want to press again to close shutter, you'll need the ML-L1/L3.

Like mentioned by espn contrary to popular believe when using bulb mode you press the shutter and the lens open and once you release it will close. It is not press once to release teh shutter and press again to close it.

I also wanted to try bulb mode but sadly, the IR remote n the wired remote are not available when I visited CP, John3:16, AP at Funan....

For my fireworks setting, I used iso 200-400, F13 onwards, shutter 2"-6". Also used self timer mode.

Without the remote, guess that's the best i can make out of what I have available to me.

For nightscenes and fireworks, there's no need to push up ISO beyond it's base values.
