thanks pplz~

actually the first pic would be better with a more blur background, but i reduced aperture for the sharpness.

just trying to show that cheap lens can be good weapon sometimes, although my next will be the 70-200 VR. =)

this lens perform reasonably well outdoors. But once you start to shoot indoors like event and concert this is where it struggles for the given aperture is not fast enough to freeze the moment. I shot earlier w/ my drama competition and shutter speed is too slow(even @ iso 800 on my cam). But I think can't fault given its price...

true, actually i never use it for indoor events before.

it's doing so far so good for outdoor, other than the noise and slow speed when focusing~~~

There are 3 groups of photogs. Rich, Poor & Skilled.

If v rich can afford why not ?? If that 3000+ glass can makes your photos brighter, clearer and sharper.
But for poorer photogs, 300+ is still affordable. Actually, 300+ is a lots of money to a NSF guy.
For a skilled photogs, he know the strength of each class of lens and he will maximise its strength, and hide its weakness.

i thought NSF guys are the rich kids?

3000+ is a lot of money to me, and my skill is not there yet, but i just can't resist the charm of this lens.

and some people also said, when your hardware is there, your software will be there.

nice pics... esp like number one....
if nit pick, her face is too bright...

i agreee that this lens is pretty sharp when shot in outdoor bright light....
but focusing speed is a headache when you are takling moving objects... caused me to lose a number of shots....

also looking at the 70-200vr..... only thing is the range at extreme end of 200mm is a bit short for going to the zoo.... hai.... with TC 1.4 , the f stop gets increased to about f4..... hmm.... dilemma....

but tried that lens liao.... focusing speed is incredible.... and VR is SUPER !!!! ....
but $$$$ is A LOT.... hee hee
still thinking la... but most likely will get it.... GriGri, you want to get it together so that can bargain a better price ?

cheeers
