1) There's no clip-on LCD protector for D50. You can use those stick-on types used on PDAs.
2) You can try the Eastgear batteries. Not as long lasting as the original still able to get a few hundred shots out of a fully charged one. Cheap too, $30 or less. 3) Firmware upgrades won't be out so soon as the camera has only been released. It will take some months. |

I bought a 3rd party batt for $25, not EastGear as no stock at that time, taken 500+ pic
but not uisng the build in flash and batt drop only 1 bar. The original batt will last mouch more long but I bought 1 more just in case.. LCD protector I used those PDA flim type and cut myself. The infra remote is Nikon ML-L3, cost only $16. CP no stock at that time, bought from AP funan. You might wanna call them up to check stock.. |

I use a pda sticker for the lcd screen. Luckily when I bought it was the eXACT fit. heh heh heh... can't remember the model of pda that will fit exactly though. bought from harvey norman and the price is not nice,
![]() don: din think the remote would be so cheap! Today at botanic gardens noticed the first drop in the battery bar whilst shooting, subsequently it dropped faster. Quite the opposite of nokia phones which usually have a strong last bar. Anyone experienced otherwise? |

Nikon EN-EL3s can last very long, but once the battery drops 1 single bar, be prepared it can die very fast after that.
1) Is there a need for protector? A film protector only prevents scratches, it won't prevent knocks. 2) Why 3rd party, you've made a thousand dollar investment only to scrimp on originals? ![]() 3) If it isn't broken, why worry about firmware upgrades? Anyway if it's out, you'll know, cos the forum gets updated fast. |

I'm using a PDA film protector which cost me $9.90 bought at Sim Lim Square.
I would suggest that you bring the D50 and try out the camera film protector as there are the 2" and 3". I bought the 3rd party En-EL3 from Eastgear 1800mAH at $29.95 and it is good to go. HTH. |

Seem like the owners for D50 is expanding. Soon we can start a D50 owners list.
Or is there such a thread already ??? ![]() |
