Default Black-Shouldered Kite, Little Terns and a Parakeet

Black-Shouldered Kite (BSK)

A few good articles have been written on the subject in Avian Watch Asia and Nature Photographic Society (Singapore) and Clubsnap website. Me and my buddy was fortunate to come across one hovering in the air near a roadside. This is the closest distance I have ever been to a hovering BSK. The image is uncropped.

Little Terns

Little terns have been receiving a lot of attention and exposure in the past months. After posting one with fish in mid-air, this is my second posting on the subject. The male is busy feeding fish to the female. One look from the picture and it is not difficult to guess which is the male (or female). They were feeding rather close from where I was seated. The next thing to do was to go for a close-up shot.

A friendly male Red-breasted Parakeet

How do I know it’s a male? The most prominent part is the bill as female has black bill. Red-breasted Parakeets have been residents of Changi, Singapore for many decades now. While having meal or drinks at coffee shops in Changi Village, it is easy to spot them chasing each other or resting in the holes on some trees. The colour of their feathers are simply stunning! This is my first try on these parakeets.

Thanks for viewing!
