nice and sharp but could do with a wee bit more dof to cover the lizard
nice Bg as well

slightly too much empty space on the left

Thanks for the comments. I agree with the DOF bit. I've got a few shots of it with better DOF, but the background had to be compromised (not as smooth) so I settled for this one. For the empty space, feel free to crop my shot and repost it, to show your preferred composition.

Ya, I remember that. Didn't want to disturb the lizard, so didn't go too close. I've got a digital crop of the eye, as this was shot at 12.4Mp. But Melvyn's shot is better...

Still prefer a bit more space for the liz to look out into... seems a bit cramped for space in the frame. But thanks for your view anyway.

lots of details, very nice actually i think while the original frame focusses on the lizard's eye, ortega's tighter crop gives more emphasis to the lizard's skin texture

True... different perspectives and emphasis to the shot with a tighter cropping I guess.

yup ... but given the condition of the background, i do prefer ortega's crop over the original. your 2nd lizard shot works much better with the wider frame than this one because of the beautifully clean background

Just saw your other lizard shot, noticed that you tend to place the subject smack in the centre.

Lizard 2 works for me but this lizard looks too centre with no detail on the left, but it's OK just as long as you like it. Nice shots

green crested lizard is no longer as common as it was many years ago since the introduction of the other common red crested lizards who breeds faster.

nice catch!!!

Thanks. Here's some info about the unfortunate reduction of the numbers of the Green Crested Lizard (Bronchocela cristatella), when the Changeable Lizard (Calotes versicolor) was introduced to Singapore in the 80's from Thailand or Northern Malaysia. The numbers of our native Green Crested Lizard have declined significantly in Singapore whereas the Changeable Lizard is now more common and can be found in gardens and urban parks.
