Wow! I love the first pic. The precise workmanship of the artisan is just inspiring. Great bokeh and composition too. The second one, I believe the bokeh is a bit too harsh, and the focus is a bit awkward. It would have been a bit more nicer if the centre was focused on and if the aperture had been pushed up a stop. The excessive blurring of the background (which has subjects and action going on) seems a bit awkward. Nevertheless, great pics.

Hi,

I think you almost nailed the 2 shots but, please allow me to add some comments as a viewer: The first one always gives me the feeling to looks at his eyes before his hands..which leads me to suggest to change the composition a bit, so I would personally just focus on the hands up to the man's eyes as an overall composition to have the clear-cut isolation of what's happening. Also, I think that would surely be nice in B&W if made with a little bit of contrast. I agree with the first comment on the second shot, but if it were me, I'd extend the depth of field 'til the middle of the frame which I think is really interesting; or if you're aperture/speed won't allow it; as stated above..it would be good to shift the clear focus to the first 1/3 to the middle of the frame from the left. Overall, great compositions.

Btw, could you share me where this place is in China town, I'm thinking of going there with a friend to exercise our rangefinders one of these days. Would really appreciate if you can advise where to start and when is the best time to go. Thanks.

Walk along the street once you get out of China Town MRT.
