Good things that last... my facial hair... keep growing & growing... it goes on & on & on...

Bad things that dun last... at least not in my washroom... the Gillette Mach 3 (the one David Beckham endorse with the vibrator...) dun even cut of a mm off my moustache, and left me with 3 scratches on my face... (i admit... this is the 1st time i used this kinda shaver...)

My old fashioned 34 inch Sony TV - 9 years already and still going strong and no reason to change to the slick and expensive Plasma type.

Batteries don't last - better change before they fail on you, be it car battery, camera battery or any other battery.
I love big car, big house, big lenses, but small apertures.

    Default Conspiracy theory!

I suspect that manufacturers install a self-destruct chip in their products that causes them to fail RIGHT AFTER YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRES.

    But seriously folks,

There's no real reason why they want to build something so durable, especially consumer-use products. Then you can buy new stuff from them! Digicam CCDs are especially prone to failure after a year or so. Speaking of durable mobile phones, I know of people who still use the Nokia 3210 and 5110!
