    Default Utterly revolting

Just this morning, somebody spammed the landscape section with this.

    https://lensy.com/tasks/bmwi3-urban-living/

That's $600 in total prize money for god-knows-how-many entries to be used commercially.

Then I got spammed on Flickr by people from https://lensy.com/. It's really disconcerting to see people claiming to represent photographers condoning these practices.

    Hi,

I am Ling from lensy.com, a marketplace and community for photographers in Asia.

I was browsing through your portfolio and thought that some of your photos fit very well into a urban living task we are running for the BMW i3 at the moment.

Performance Motors is looking for photos that portray the excitement and vibrance of urban living to display alongside the BMW i3 at the Singapore International Photography Festival 2014 (SIPF) and we thought that some of your photos like "Nano painters", "Nano pitch", "void deck - the floor games" fit very well into the theme. Love your Nano series!

We'd love to invite you to participate in the task at:
    lensy.com/tasks/bmwi3-urban-living/

Do check out the task and the other prizes for the winners!
After the task ends, each photo will then be made available in the marketplace with a royalty free license for $10 each after the competition. You can sell a photo for an unlimited number of times as it's non-exclusive to the buyer. Every time a photo license is bought, you will receive 50% ($5) of the commission or $2.50 if the photo license is bought using a package.

Do let me know if you have any queries and we look forward to seeing your photos on Lensy!

    Cheers,
    Ling

that person has been banned from CS.

Not to say that cash matters a lot , but to have a total prize money of $600 for all prize categories kinda makes me feel they aren't advertising for BMW but rather some obscure car brand made out of 99% thick cardboard.

But ya , as catchlights said - there will still be people joining , afterall this agency is doing it worse spamming everyone's accounts asking for entries.

As one of the leading luxury retailers in Singapore, Performance Motors is committed to furthering your drive on the road through specialised service and care since 1979.
The winner of the 1st prize will also get to drive around the BMW i3 for a day!
    Yeah, what a luxury indeed.

just check the past thread, this Ling claim they pay much higher than other micro stock agencies, something like $5.00 per photo sold, sounds a lot than US$0.50 loyalty than some micro stock agencies, but don't forget the downloads from such agencies can be a lot more, and their accepting standard for photo contributors is so much higher, and have big legal muscle too.

if anyone really keen to sell their photos thru micro stock agencies, best go to the big fours first, if your photos can't be accepted by them, than don't waste your time submit your photos to some other smaller stock agencies, micro stock photography is not for you.
