You're right. That's why this LX100 thread is in the [Panasonic] sub-forum, not [Four Thirds Standard].

Looks like those who pre-ordered have to wait for another week.

Yup, I guess we are at the mercy of Panasonic Singapore. No choice.

Launched and made available in US and many parts of Europe at the start of the month. One month later, still no LX100 in Singapore. Just shows how much Panasonic values the Singapore / Asia business.

    7,680 HKD = SS1,292
Isn't this quite a lot more expensive than our local price?
Might as well buy it here.

One noob question.. What type of sd card should be used if intended to take 4k video.. In the manual it says u3.. How about speed? U3 high speed can cost a bomb.. Can't use extreme pro 95mb/s?

    nope

both models need you to purchase the auto lens cap separately if you need to.

For those who wanted to add a 43mm filter to the lens, take note that the original lens cap is having a bigger overall diameter and could look quite weird (subjective.. Of course)

Also, if add filter, not sure still able to use the auto lens cap since the barrel is longer..

It doesn't need to be high speed U3, as long as it's U3 spec. E.g., The [SanDisk Extreme 64GB UHS-I/U3 SDHC Memory Card Up To 60MB/s] is currently going for only US$35 on amazon.

Think a lot of people on other forums have found it okay to use their fast U1 cards for 4K, especially when there was a time when there weren't U3 cards available yet.

I would go ahead and use them, but be more cautious for critical applications as the fact that it's still U1/Class 10 (minimum write speed of 10MB/s), means that while the maximum may be sufficient, it's still not constant. Maximum just means 'up to..'

That said, Sandisk does claim to support 4K in its page for the SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s.

SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC and SDXC UHS-I cards deliver the highest video performance with Class 10 rating plus UHS Speed Class 1 (U1)** to support cinema qualityFull HD** (1080p), 3D, and 4K video.

Personally, can't help feel like there's always the possibility (however remote) that the speed can fall below 30MB/s, leading to dropped frames, etc.. From my layman's understanding, video relies more on the minimum guaranteed write speed, while stills (burst) benefit more from the maximum. So I'd get a slower U3 card for 4K for critical applications.

The speed rating measures maximum transfer speed for reading and writing images to and from a memory card, expressed as megabytes per second. However, video doesn't need as big a data pipe because the video format is a smaller "fixed stream" that uses only a portion of the data pipe.

Unlike card write speeds that measure maximum performance, class ratings measure the minimum sustained speed required for recording an even rate of video onto the card.

Edited my earlier typo. Meant to refer to the [SanDisk Extreme 64GB], that is currently going for only US$35 on amazon. The 32GB is going for US$17++.
