Wink nikon cooplix question - how to lock exposure and use timer at the same time?

hi :

i want to use my coolpix 5000 to take a few photos with same exposure.
i would like to lock the exposure and also use timer and tripod to take the scene.
How can i do it ?

accroding the manual... i need to half press my shuttle button and hold the AE-L/AE-F button to lock the exposure. At this point of time, how can i set timer?
wht is the proper steps ?

thanks and regards

The AE/AF-L buttons can be set to just press on and the lock is activated until you press again. Check the manual.

Use auto mode to check the exposure and take note of the exposure values , e.g. 1/60sec, f5.6

Set your camera to manual mode and set the settings as above.
