Straits Times' 160th Anniversary Photo Exhibition
"Travel back in time as you see the best photos of yesteryear, from 1845 when Singapore was a colonial outpost to a modern, global city after self-government.
They are featured in a special photo exhibition which began at Paragon on Jul 8 as part of the celebrations of The Straits Times' 160th anniversary. Called "160 Years of The Straits Times in Pictures", the exhibition has travelled to Lot 1 Mall, Junction 8 and IMM.
Comprising 160 of the best pictures that have been published in the newspaper, it promises something for everyone.
Highlights of the exhibition include the cover of the first Straits Times published in 1845 and one of the first photos published in 1928. Many of these pictures in the exhibition capture milestones of the nation's history, including many newsworthy events, while others show the lighter side of life with glimpses into the places, people and past times over the years."
Now displaying at News Centre, Toa Payoh North, till 5th Aug, Friday.
Coming exhibition dates:
Aug 6 to 9 - National Day Celebrations @ Tampines
Aug 10 to Aug 31 - National Library (Victoria Street)
