Is there any shop that don't charge gst for the lens? Can make quite a difference in dollar amount.

noe.. if turnover < 1 mil, no GST, but a shop that sells L lens & below 1 mil sales... ???

You can buy L lens in almost all camera shops selling canon SLR equipment. Only difference is the price and service quality
