woah!!! ROM? are you the official photographer? must warn you, Holgas are very tempermental creatures, you might end up with a whole roll overexposed or not exposed at all. lighting might be a problem too as they don't do well at all indoors.

not trying to scare you, but just be careful. if it's a play play thing though, then never mind...

haha!!! thanks for the concern... dun worry, this kind of a once-in-lifetime thing, i definitely won't risk it.

i'm just the unofficial (and purely) candid photographer. will be there with my trusty G2 and (soon to get) holga...

hope to get some rolls under my belt and "understand" my holga before the big day...

wish me luck!!

btw if you wanna borrow a few more holgas for that day (it's quite tricky to reload 120 film for the holga in the field IMHO), lemme know. can lend you my plastic toys.

happy shooting!

Default wow!!!

WOW!! that's a fine offer i find awfully hard to turn down! THANKS!!!

i was just thinking which film to use... B/W or colour or slide (dev as normal) etc... Plus i'll so new with it.

but the ROM will be in Dec, so hopefully they will be avail then.

will be picking up pointers from you since i guess you must be very lao-jiao with holgas.

cheers!

I read somewhere in the web, one guy was mentioning that the inside there are 2 holes that will cause the leak. Perhaps you can tape up the inside of the lens area inside the camera. :P

yeah i know the spots you're talking about. just next to the shutter area. mine didn't give me any problems, but i taped them up also just in case...

There's a Holga group on Yahoo. Need to register first before you can read the posts:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/holgab...tephotography/
Full of info and inspiring photos. I do agree with Larry, though, that Holgas are unpredictable. So do all your research and testing b4 'your big day'.
HTH.

Default ...can't you use black silicon fillings

Hi Larry,

Seems like the light leakage issue seems to be quite common.....wouldn't it be helpful to use some black silicon sealant to permanantly seal those leakage???

BTW...I was wandering in Funan today while waiting for my wife and checked out the "Quad" camera at Challenger.......and got it.....for 17.90SGD.

Its kinda kewl and my wife likes it at first glance. Its has 4 lens stacked 2x2. And i like the pop up viewfinder.

+++++ went across to the 2nd hand shop across at Adelphi (2nd Floor) - Hey everyone gotta check out some interesting old stuff the man is trying to clear.....the shop is closing down i think.....And i got myself the Lomo Smena 8m.....happen to see it in the shelf.

Looks like i gonna have to try it out over the weekend. *Larry* Any tips???

Regards,
me

the main light leaks typically come from the cheesy plastic cover that holds in the 120 film. if you use silicon sealant, that'll seal it in permanently... then how to take out film?

that's what the velcro and duct tape is for...
