Having used all 3, I personally find their AF is different, but however, they suit my needs & use, as for bird shooting, never tried before, but I believe the D2H/S should perform better than the D2X in this area.

Thanks for sharing the thread. Can you advise me on the best settings on my D2H for bird photography? I just bought the camera body and there's too many settings to get familiar with. Thanks. regards, Arthur |

The thread is not meant to cause any undue worry or unhappiness for existing (or potential) D2X/Hs users.
For some users, they may not feel the differences or even prefer the new focusing system. That’s good! The thread is meant for users who missed the old focusing system and to provide comfort that they are not alone to feel that way. Something as simple as a firmware update may address their concerns. Regardless, this should not stop anyone using these great cameras to capture life-fleeting moments. Artists need to understand the tools they are using (including its limitations) and work around the constraints on hand to create a piece of art. The same I feel is applicable to photographers and their cameras. |

You may want to check the following link for settings on D2h used by Moose Peterson previously. http://www.moosepeterson.com/gear/d2h.html For me, I changed the tone setting to "Normal" instead of "Auto". Happy shooting! Cheers! ![]() |

Here's an interesting thread on the new Multi-CAM 2000 autofocus module found on D2X and Hs.
