every reason to be proudly standing tall? one needs a balanced view of life. one can't possibly mention the good things only and ignore the not-so-good things, right? there are two sides to a coin.

Perhaps you are standing too close to Singapore to see its near perfection?

As usual, some fail to separate their sentiments for their country with their misgivings of the ruling party.

is it bcos we were taught to only see 1 side? or our view are obscured when standing on one side?

My life is not free too! If any of you guys been through more than 40 years or so, you will definitely know what's the changes have been made in terms of ruling, economy, improvements, competitions & so on....
Anyway, I recall looking the Singapore map displayed in the old HDB building when I was there. Our country only left about 55% of landspace. Imagine another 40 years from now!
    Sad huh?

    Unfortunate I must say.

Blind hatred for 'tyranny' (as publicised and demonised by dubious characters) had blinded the fact that country != political party

Hard to separate them when they encompass everything in Singapore. In the mouth of Judge Dread, 'I AM THE LAW!'. In this case, ruling party is the country itself. That is in-separable.......

We have a good life the last 40 years since the P@P come into power. We may be just a little red dot surrounded by Muslims nations once determined to squash our newly independent country, but we have overcome all adversities to become a symbol of success and prosperity. This is all due to the farsighted leadership of Mentor Minister Lee and his teams of dedicated ministers.

Let's celebrate our 40th birthday in honour of MM Lee for this maybe his last years with us.

Just look at B&S. Is this really that country badly run?

For many things that I wish could be better, there are alot more things that I am grateful for to be living in Singapore.

Exactly. For all the whiners, please suggest a country you would really prefer to live in other than Singapore. Myanmar? the Philippines? China? Australia? US? Sweden? Others? Please tell us why you think life for you would be better there.

If you can't bring yourself to love the country you belong to maybe you should take a look at yourself first before blaming the leaders.
