    Believe me, the chronological WA for Canon is

    17-35L -> 16-35L -> 17-40L.

    Go test, the 17-40L is a winner. Check with Garion if you don't believe me

    Depends on how often you do it right? So how about a short TFP tomorrow morning first?

    Hate to burst your bubble, the 17-40L although wide, is good for landscapes, but for buildings, you'd be better off with a TS glass. I believe Canon has 2 TS glasses. Check it out.

    Alternatively as Ian would enforce, a MF or LF would be better handling buildings & architectural displays.

    i tested 16-35 (belong to a manager in my co) vs 17-40 and yes, 17-40 is clear cut the winner.

    Actually, there's no 1 for all situation lens... for architectural pics of buildings...pros normally use shift-tilt lens

    But for others 17-40 is good enuf.. juz need to correct perspective in PS.

    if you are concerned about distortion...17-40 beats 10-22 and 12-24 hands down
