You can also ask for a pen on Scoot but it will cost you $2 and it will probably be brand new and without any smell .

A former SIA air stewardess, she admitted that adapting to a budget carrier was challenging in the beginning.

“On the legacy airlines, passengers pay for the seat, the food and the premium service. But here, you have to remember that they are only paying for the seat.

Everything else comes at a premium,” she said.

That mantra was quickly tested when two passengers asked to borrow pens.

Say no, apologise and ask them to buy a pen for $2, said Ms Dargan, adding that it was company policy.

Bracing myself for one of those nuclear meltdowns that Singaporeans have when denied service, I prepared my rejection speech.

Never borrow pen from me. You never knew what I did with it.

Please ask her to stick "DFive's GF" label on her name tag. I'll make sure I won't even have any thought of her.

Sigh... nowadays so difficult to borrow a pen. Must ask: are you DFive's gf? Is your nick SJackal? If your answer is no to all of the above, can I borrow your pen?

We once encounter a write-up in an aircraft technical log for "anomalous cockpit fume event" turns out the cause was found to be emanating from several Unit Load Devices (ULDs) previously used in the transshipment of Durios.

Anyway some airlines requires special handling procedures for them along with many other tropical fruits otherwise they may trigger the fire detection, warning and suppression system within the cargo compartments.

What kind of packing would be required for Durians to be transported in passenger flight (luggage compartment) without causing any hiccups? I'm still thinking how to get one fresh fruit to Germany for my family to try
