The Sigma 55-200mm is really sharp for that price!

The sigma is effectly 110-400 relative to the 35mm format right.
How did you get the birds to pose for you? |

hi koolz, the sigma is pretty good, esp for its price and size... on the 55-150mm side it performs decently, it gets noticable softer @ 200mm, so i try to zoom out a little if i hit 200mm... stopped down it improves at the long end, but it gets hard to handhold.
event horizon, yup, the equiv FOV is 110-400... and in a small package too! the e-300 + sigma 55-200 + fl36 all fit into a nova 1, and while shooting it's easy to carry for extended periods.... especially when "chasing" after the sunbirds.... |

I like pic 2 as it puts all focus on the bird. BTW, I think it will look better if you crop up the distraction on the flower (top part). Good attempts!

hammer,
It's good to hear that you put the sigma to good use - wonderful. I guess, with a light-weight system like this, we gain better shooting opportunity. Also, at the end of the day, less muscle ache ![]() |
