Hi, encountered this Err 99 on the 300d using a lens on auto focus, if i change the lens, or switch to manual focus, this does not happen, so does it means it has something to do with the lens? sorry, cannot read the manual because its my school's camera, and i dunno where or whom has the manual. Thks in advance

most likely is lens problem if you are using the canon kit lens. when i mount older lenses, there are no problem.
You might want to try other canon lens to confirm this point. |

Try cleaning the contacts of the lens as well.
