You do not necessary need to buy a lense to use a filter. The camera you're using has a built in lense already. If its using a retractable zoom lense, then you'll need to get an adaptor tube in order to fit the filter.

thanks PsychoBoy...
it is more clear now... So the sequence is: CLA-1 -> adopter ring -> filter -> filter cap |

correct. that is what you need to armor your camera. Here is how much I paid for all those items you mentioned :-
1) CLA-1, $32 from CP 2) Stepping ring, $6 from a shop in second floor above Bata 3) 46mm UV filter, $8 4) lens cap, $2, this is not new I got from a second hand camera shop. cheers |

- CLA-1 lens tube adaptor - S$32 - 43mm Hoya UV filter x 2 - S$12 each (The second UV filter was to act as a 43-43 extension ring) - 43mm "Olympus" lens cap - S$10 The prices may or may not be the same now, but they shouldn't have changed that much. Oh btw you can obviously get a much cheaper lens cap, it's just that I thought it would be cool to get an Olympus one to go with the camera. ![]() |

oh, you may need to do some manually setting for the white balancing function for your cam or using photos manipulation software to achieve this...
