dell has this excellent sale.
539 usd for a 17-40 but i love my 28-75 but have been longing for the wide angle of my kit lens that i sold off. plus its f2.8 And it will be kinda pointless to have 2 walk around lens as that defeats the purpose. Should i just save up and get the 10-22 ![]() |

sigh, sale is over, read wrongly good so i wont impulse buy. but just wondering, if you have a good copy of the tammy, would you pay more for the 17-40 if you had the cash or just keep ur lens? from what i've read the picture quality is comparable? and you get the extra f-stop |

they are pretty different ranges and the 17-40F4L doesn't really replace the Tamron. you could consider getting the Tamron 17-35/2.8-4 Di too which would be a cheaper but still pretty capable alternative.

I have both the 17-40 and the tamron 28-75. Though they overlap slightly, I have found many occasions that I would use one over the other. So that's why I am keeping both.
