My next trip is in end Sept, I will try to chk out the price if I can. but, with the sizes of your lens and your big built, would'nt a 1DMkII be more pratical for you

EVQ: ready to buy a cheap 350D in Sept??

I did a few jobs in the last few weeks taking a total of 4000+ shot and clocking 25 hours of holding the cam in my hands... thank goodness it's a 350D. With the 24-70, batt grip and flash, the weight is still under 3.5kg. The 20D config would have made it 4.5kg. The 1DMkII config would have been the equivalent of doing a job on Saturn!!!

Don't know about you guys, but after those shoots, my last two fingers on the right hand were numb and tingling for days.

Personally if I had a D2H or D2X, I won't be complaining holding it the whole day....it's so much more comforting to hold a bigger equipment than a smaller one in your hands.

YQT: Please demo to Ykia how you hold your MF for 12 Hrs...hahaha

350D grip still not as comfortable as 1-series body, that's why your last two fingers went numb....

1-series body is heavy, but it is very well balance and u will appreaciate this when u use long lens :P

i did shot intensively for 7 days continuously, from 9am to 9pm daily...with 1D MKII + 28-70L + 550ex + CP-E2 + flash L-bracket + computrekker + ibook and squeeze thru taipei world tade center to do my coverage...my fingers were fine, only my shoulders started to ache on the last few days...didnt feel like doing a job in saturen :bsmile:

Hey, what is 4~5kg compares to 6kg M-16. I still gotta carry that 11kg armburst(anti-tank), + over 20kg backpack, choing up the hill.
If u give me a MKII with 1200mm prime, I am more than happy to carry them.

Aiyah, how can you compare a 19 year old body to now. At 19, all hormones on full throtle... even with 70kg buddy evacution can still chase tomboy female LT.

I believe it's a must get 'toy' once in a lifetime, why wait until 50s or 60s when the hands are weaker? If photography is a love, just enjoy it. I'm thinking, maybe should downgrade to smaller car and get the d2x??
I lup SG, but SG don't love me...
