Default Compact Flash card for Canon cameras

Hi,

Does it matter which brand of CF card we use for Canon cameras? I read some other forum that some brands do not really work well for certain cameras. I'm looking to buy a 1GB CF for underwater photography.

Thks.

be careful of the older lexar cards, do not work well with the newer canon DSLR cameras, other than that not much of a problem, but test first before leaving the store.

That's good advice. Especially the 80X Lexar cards. Known to give problems on the 350D, 20D, 1D MK2, 1Ds MK2. Check the respective sites for their press release on the matter.

Cheers,

I've been using Kinston Elite Pro for my 20D, they are quite ok. And they are much cheaper than the Sandisk and Lexar. Just saw on that the 2G version is selling at US$99 in US before mail-in rebate.

I use nothing but Sandisk compact flash cards, cos they're the ones who invented the CFs. So far so good. No problems at all.

Kinston Elite Pro speed 50x, Sandisk Ultra 2 speed 60x. I feel that the speed difference is well justified by the price difference So far I think the card is fast enough for me.
