Default Can a Canon 350D be tethered to a laptop?

I'm looking at upgrading to a 350D but wanted to query whether it can be tethered to a PC/laptop for live previews of the shots as I take them?

Thanks
Cyrus

yes u can tehtered to a laptop

no, u wont have live preview

After u launch EOS capture (free software comes with the package) and establish connection to camera, u wont see any picture on your laptop. Only after u press the shutter, the photo will be downloaded to the laptop and display immdiately

unless u are using point & shot series like A95, Pro1...etc... u can have live preview

thanks mate, I think I used incorrect teminology. After reading your message I don't really need live preview, I just need to see an instant review of the shot I just took. Thanks for your detailed reply mate.

Yeap, 350D offers instant review of a tethered shot. However, you must use their custom software (EOS Capture coupled with Zoombrowser EX).

The shutter can be triggered either at the PC or the camera.

not really....EOS capture is free but there are also other software like DSLR remote, capture 1...etc that allows u to do tethered shooting

IMO, DSLR remote is better because it offers more features, but EOS capture is good enough liao, u can also adjust settings like ISO, aperture, shutter speed, EV, metering, and shooting mode via EOS capture...u dont need to touch the camera anymore

Yeah, thanks for supplementing more info. I stand corrected.

That info is great thanks again. That's exactly what I need in my prospective camera, I just need to get a good price for my Sony F828 and I'm on my way to getting my EOS 350D.

Thanks again
