    I think this thread should instead be "what's your favourite food" since most of the food items did not originate locally.

    Anyway, my favourite is the popiah. But not Singapore version ....

    met in MUG with others
    recall some was trying out the what's that ? lensbaby that was some moveable lens on a flexible barrel.

    other time was viewing another potential buy in KFC and
    just happen to see u there too..

    KFC convenient in Peninsula but I wished it was a Macdonalds.

    comfort foods.
    when we were young and Spore much poorer, these were simple foods sold by hawkers.
    it is programmed into our brains.
    so there is instant connection.

    chee cheong fun, wu tau kou, peanut porridge, simple plain fried beehoon,
    mee siam, lontong, even the "fah pau" with a glob of kaya and margarine slapped on it,

    oh yah, a friend intro me to hong kong bread in a dim sum restaurant.
    simple but really nice.
