In contrast to SMRT (and the retail CEO), airlines and aircraft manufacturer are fairly experienced with safety. Let's not forget one of the most basic safety rules: "Never touch a running system." - Seemingly easy changes as using a different route / flight path still require a good portion of internal controls and justifications. What is really interesting is: which points were raised within SIA to keep the current flight path, despite the known risk?

    The world's 10 safest airlines
It hasn't been a great year for airlines. Statistically we understand that flying has never been safer, but when a Malaysia Airlines flight goes missing, another gets shot down, while planes in Taiwan and Mali crash, staying at home begins to seem better and better.
somehow this has almost nothing to do with the Airline itself.
