First - $280 is very expensive for a job like this..
2nd - Did not do a good job (leak)
    3rd - no warranty
4th - want more money to complete the job (comeback to do complete the leak job)
5th - Can we call that extortion REPORT TO POLICE LIAO.. But not proof how?
6th - Next time must record the conversation.

just send him a writs of summons.. go apply it yourself over the counter at the sub courts.. dun need to get the lawyers to do for you. receiving court letters with the singapure emblem will surely scare the wits out of them. ahahah..

You probably can bring up to CASE. I hope it works out for you.
$280 is a lot for a simple job like that. Likely to be overcharging....

I normally do this kind of repairs myself. The parts cost very little (<$50). Your leak can be fixed if he used this white tape thing for waterproofing or it could be that he did a crummy job of alighning the tumbler thing and the screw threads are off.

legal merits of the case aside, wouldn't the small claims tribunal be a better place to start the action???

yups small claims is the correct place to start since the claim amount is "small" by legal limits.

Sending him court summons is just to scare the contractor.. then again.. i guess they should have already been used to receiving legal scares if they are really dishonest.
