Default Please Recommend a TC

Hi all,

can anyone recommend a 1.4x and 2x teleconverter that can be used with the Nikkor 80-200mm and allow the lens to maintain its auto-focus ability? (besides the Nikon TCs.... too expensive). And also where I can get them from and for how much.

Thanks all.

kenko 300pro 1.4x or tamron sp 1.4x. Around S$300. I heard u can try TCW for Kenko, I bought the Tamron from tamron distributer in Malaysia.

I have a nikon TC 16A which allows for auto focus of the 80-200 zoom. I have used it on my AF 80-200 f2.8. Its optics is from Nikon so its good. Used it in National Stadium for football match. Gave me 320 mm at the long end. Got some decent shots. Need to enlarge a little. I'm selling it cos don't need it as I'm getting the longer 300 mm lens. PM if you r interested.

Aiyar, then the only TCs that'll give AF are the Kenkos. Yes, you can't use the TC16s.

I have the F80 too. Believe I tried it once before and it worked. Will confirm with the 80-200 on the F80 and let you know.

Tried on the TC16A on F80. The AF doesn't work. Worked well on F5. Better look at the Kenko or Tamron ones.
