I am thinking of gettting this Compact Drive http://www.compactdrive.com/ dunno how reliable, durable and stable is it?
![]() -Faster transfer speed (16MB/s* vs 5MB/s) -Now able to support SanDisk MemoryStick, MS Pro and Seagate STI 5GB -Faster battery charger (900mA vs 350mA) -Better charging algorithm (constant current -dV vs constant voltage) -Battery charging status indicator -Self format from device -Firmware upgrade via memory card -Able to support FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 (previously FAT12/FAT16 or FAT16/FAT32) _

I am more worried about failures.

). If you wanna be 101% safe - get 2 sets of portable storages - rest the portable storage on flat surface while performing CF images transfer |

I'm also using CompactDrive PD7X,
My battery dies often. I should try different batteries. My friend has the PD70X; |

I'm using PD7X also, very happy, CF downlaod to PD7X on site and transfer to PC later, is faster than CF cards download to PC. so I can have more time to sleep, moreover 1 copy leave it in PD7X is already a backup liao.

I'm using a PD7X too ... but i use an external sanyo charger to charge the batteries...
The only gripe i have about the PD7X is the file system. For some strange reason, if you deleted of lets say a series of folders 1,2,3,4,5 .. you delete off 3 ....automatically we assume it should continue to write folders 7,8,9,10 etc. For some weird reason, it doesn't it jumps back to 3 ... and sometimes, though it says copied, its not copied at all ... i lost 512MB of shots during DCA cos of this problem ![]() |
