While our so-called Generals may really only be as good as an American colonel, the Captain in this case is specifically a US Navy thing. For instance their Navy lieutanent is actually our captain, their commander is our LTC and so on. Oh and our lieutanent is their ensign.

Even leaving aside rank, a US flag officer (Rear Admiral and above) commands more firepower than our entire navy, or airforce.

I would say one cannot consider himself [or herself] a soldier UNLESS he or she has fought in a war or conflict etc.

Therefore, the rank is meaningless in terms of his war fighting capability. Our colonel here who has never fought in an engagement before might be worst than a corporal in the US who has warfighting experience. The colonel here may run for his own life when war breaks. LOL

In today's contacts. Rank in the army is for the pay scale purpose nothing to do with ability to fight a war.

Many of these generals enter the army forces as officer and speed up the ranks without having to prove anything. Basically the idea is to retain them with higher pay. They are not solider like in many other countries. You can also notice they will sooner or later join the private sector as senior management staff.

In my opinion, we should not compare them with real solider. Our army still depend on the regulars and reservist personnel.

Ha ha, good observation. But must at least be able to carry a flag.
