Default Holga User Group (aka HUG)

i know its a bit passe, but i'm sure there's still a hardcore group of people who have an active interest in alternative/toy camera photography, especially the Holga.

as such, i would like to propose the informal creation of this group. we can discuss and talk about alternative process/toy camera photography, share pictures and perhaps even organise mini-outings.

i propose to name it the HUG just because it sounds catchy and because i'm sure the Holga is a relatively cheap and popular camera among us.

please express your interest here. thank you!

go go go, stereobox! do form up a HUGgable grp!

u might wanna try asking objectifs, cos they are the lomo embassy rep for singapore. perhaps u might do a tie up with them for HUG in order to promote this form of photography? i believe darren soh is the resident Holga instructor in objectifs.

thanks for all the support!

as far as i know, the Holga is a Chinese brand toy camera, whereas LOMO is actually a Russian scientific and medical optics/camera manufacturer.

LOMO stands for Leningradskoye Optiko Mechanichesckoye Obyedinenie, or, Leningrad Optical & Mechanical Enterprise.

and the LOMOgraphic Society International (www.lomo.com) is an Austrian formed company which bought over the rights to exclusively distribute the LOMO LC-A, and they also repackage and sell cameras like the Holga to the public under the 'LOMO' banner.

just want to clarify the differences between LOMO, Holga and LOMO.com
