If you can ask them to make the leg locks like the Manfrotto 055 instead of the twist release type like most CF tripod that is good.

I find the tripod legs with twist release too slow to setup. Looking forward to the type like I see on Manfrotto Aluminium tripods.

Saw the prototype image, looks good... can make two more request? at the point where the tripod stretches out the leg wider, I saw the image has a push side pin, I think this design not good, always kanna the knuckle or somewhere hitting the fingers.

The design like Manfrotto 055CL to extend the legs would be better and to reduce further weight if you can make the centre column extension removal that too would be good. I mean make it such that the centre column extension could be removed in case don't need it, but don't make it such that has to buy something to replace the centre column to mount the tripod head. Make it flexible enough to cater for different needs, this will distinguish your CF tripod from others, just my 2cents.

like azul, i'm inclined to say that the manfrotto 055 (possibly the PRO model) would be a good template to base the tripod on...but this is purely my personal preference of course!
