Default Whats Cheap In HK, and where to go for Photo Equipment?

    Hie Guys,

Will be going to HK this Saturday. I might be picking up a few items (NIKON mount), where would be a good place to buy them ? I would like decent service, and good prices.

And what lenses or accessory are generally alot cheaper than local prices ? Thinking of the 35mmf2, Tamron 11-18, Tokina 12-24, Nikkor 17-55f2.8, Tamron 90mmf2.8.

    Regards, Marc

Just to add on... i think prices have generally went up recently and with the higher exchange rate, the difference not that much anymore.

I hope this is a typo, there is no 12-24mm lens that goes for HKD 1680.........not from Sigma, not from Tokina........

Okay... I'll be leaving in 2 days.

Please provide details of 2 camera shops near the kowloon area that are reliable and cheap.... . So far, Manshing seem to be mentioned alot. Its my first time in HK, so it'll be good if you could provide information about getting there.

just got back from HK yesterday.

went to Wing Shing in Mongkok.

    Prices are up!

Currency exchange rates are worse than before....

    double whammy.

    12-24 Nikkor is $6680

marcwang: Just search the forums for Wing Shing Hong Kong and you get lotsa info.

to get to wing shing, take the MTR to Mongkok and exit to Sai Yeung Choi St.

the shop is undergoing renovations so it looks a lot smaller but all the stuff is still there..
(maybe the prices went up to cover the reno cost! )

the folks over there told me that yes, prices have gone up compared to like 6 mths back.

you do the math and then decide.

else, you may want to visit tin cheung at 100 nathan road.
