Arrow camera for industrial's use.. recommend me

    hi guys..

we r looking for digital camera dat suitable to be used in industrial environment..
mainly to be used in warehouse, site, and sometime offsea. dat means it gonna be dusty.

our old sony digital mavica just died on us.. so we need a replacement

    below are our priority.
    1. Budget will be around $1500..
    2. LCD can be rotated
    3. Optical zoom is a must, the higher the better.
    4. Can take macro too
    5. Have hot shoe for mounting external flash if need to
    6. Battery should be rechargeable.. and if can use alkaline too in case we r out in site or offsea. means dat alternative power can be found easier.. so much better
    7. Rugged.. tough.. can stand knock and such

pls recommend us a few.. so we can choose one

    thanks guys...

    thanks bro..

one cons about canon S2 is without hotshoe.. cannot mount flash.. coz sometimes we need to take night photo during loading and unloading parts..

any other good camera to recommend?

can get the flash bracket to use with the S2. otherwise get the fz20 but that one uses li-ion batt

then maybe the Nikon 8800 or the Canon G6 may better suit your needs.
suggesting these based on your requirement of a swivel LCD

D2X or 1Ds mkII for the pro look, any dust prove lens, pro lenses but cannot turn the LCD one. E1 if you have budget problems.

Otherwise you can hire a professional to do the job, if you need i can turn up in my single breasted jacket too!
