Thumbs up Beautiful landscapes shot exclusively with a telephoto lens

Experts usually recommend using a wide angle lens to capture landscape photographs, but telephoto lenses can capture stunning landscapes as well.
Marcin Sobas' photography provides some brilliant examples.

Landacapes can be shot with any focal length. The key is to know what you need to get the picture you want.

That's basically people thinking outside of the box as a phtographer or in whatever things you do in life.

If we are always compartmentalizing things becasue of he society we live in just because some 'expert so and so' say so, we might as well throw words like "creativity and innovate" out of the dictionary. Just by searching out the definition of "landscape" anyone can see it does not off up any notion where photography is concern, it has to always be about a wide angle lens. Photography is about self expression and beyond just about pleasing your peers with what you shoot all the time but about how you feel about what you shoot the pleases you and not let a 'label' or someone's rule be your shackles.

There are some locations, where wide angle will not yield a picture with enough impact. like some mountains peaks, where you need a long lens.

This is another place where it is crucial:
    200mm

Very inspiring. I always can't decide whether to change to my telephoto when I see a yolk rise... It's like, I'll miss the WA of the scene which to me, tells a more 'complete' story of the location.

I should force myself from now on, just head out with a telephoto.

For me, I always bring a tele lens as well as UWA for sunrise/sunset. Can't resist the "eggyolk" temptation.

May be not "eggyolk" but red sun

Telephoto landscape helps in perspective compression as well as it's easy to handhold for pano shots without much stitching errors

    80mm equivalent.

150mm equivalent, 5 shots stitched handheld.

    Nice!

In some places, one will be 'forced' to use telephoto lens because simply not enough reach on the wide angle.

One from my archives...about 80mm, on an airplane flying pass some mountains.
Too many great equipments but too little quality photos. [My Flickr] | [My Blog]
