Did try taking protraits in the dark as well as daytime, a very powerful speedlite and syn very well with my camera. Though, I don't really like the buttons on the speedlite, looks a bit cartoon. If you're looking for some speedlite which can also be use for DSLR, this should be the one! It comes with built in slave, slightly higher guide number and slightly longer zoom head (24-105mm!) compared with 28DX (this cost more!). |

They are a brilliant flash unit. The hard to work buttons of the SB25-26 have been replaced by a 'nintendo control' and the whole control process has been simplified.
Plenty of guts too, a GN of 56m at 105mm head setting with 100 ISO film is no small amount of light output. Lens coverage is from 14mm to 105mm, with the zoom head covering 24-105mm and the add on diffuser dome (mini stofen) covering the wider angles. It also has inbuilt remote flash control, either by cable (SC-18, SC-19) or wireless remote. As befits Nikon's top of the range flash, there's a slew of options ranging from external power packs to off camera synch leads etc.
