Default Flash takes long time to recharge

Hi, this is a newbie question. My nissin DI622 Mark 2 keeps taking a long time to recharge after like a period of time. sometimes it goes up to 5 to 6 seconds to recharge. Is it because of the battery, because there are times when i only shoot for less than an hour and this happens even with fresh batteries.

Alkaline batteries are usually slow in flash recycling and reserved for emergency backup purposes. try using nickel-based batteries like eneloops for fast recycling times.

probably your flash is fire full power most of the time, so your battery power is deplete very fast.

According to nissin's website, it does take 5 sec. Try stopping down the power or use rechargeables like what others advised.

I did not really maxed the power level. but 5 sec recycling time is really long. Its usually fast until around an hour then it slows down to 5 seconds. im using alkaline batteries. maybe i should try switching to eneloop first.

I used to be using this flash. If it takes about 5s to recycle with fresh batteries, your are likely on 1/1 power.

But if after 1hr, the recycling rate slows, it's simply your battery running out of juice. (I believe you may be working your flash abit too hard, bump the iso and lower the flash output..)

Btw, normal alkaline batteries does run dry easily in flash. If you have to, get those lithium ones, but if possible, rechargeable ones recommend.

Eneloops - best and fastest. I use only eneloops for my speedlites... very very long charge life too.

No battery lasts forever. Alkaline batteries are not made for such powerful drain,m quite normal to see them giving up so quickly. Use rechargeable batteries instead. Compare also the costs between alkaline batteries and a set of rechargeable ones including charger. It won't take long to see the advantage, beside the environmental aspect of throwing batteries to trash.
