I went strolling arround the park behind my quarter, and came pass
this abandoned railroad and bridges. It would have been boring if the kid wasn't there. 350D, 28mm, , 1/5s, F14, ISO 100 Critique please! I am prepared to accept them ![]() |

I feel that this is a nice pic, except the "F" word captures my attention too much ![]() |

what are you trying to portray in your image?
what is your main subject? the bridge or the boy? the composition does not work for me, it seems to be cut off without telling the whole story. tell us more about why you took this picture?

Me also newbie
. I think my main subject is the old bridge, the kid is used to compare the size of the bridge against. How should I compose this bridge? I worry next time I go there, the boy will be no where. :P Will the following picture work? ![]() |

looks like U were standing when U took the first shot. The crop bridge forces the eye to look at the super huge pillar of the bridge and the boy instead.
If yr intention is 'boy by the bridge', i'd squat down or get real low to capture the boy at the bottom and the top of the bridge in the pic. |

agree that the 4 letter words draw more attention than the boy.

well, the kid was sitting on the foundation of the leg of the bridge which is
in the river, I was standing on the bank though I dont know how he got onto that place maybe jump or swim. My focus wasn't on the kid though. |

nonetheless, the cropping of the bridge put the focus elsewhere onto the boy & the pillar...

I see. Maybe should try different angle and a longer distance so that my cam
can cover more of the bridge. |

The image seem too 'busy' for me. No main subject that draw my attention. "F" word, kid, concrete, blank sky etc....
