Wow... Pretty impressive..
EnvyJust some extra info, actually if u happen to tour Paris next time, u should also try out the main city area - those small streets. This will be a totally different experiance. Actually in some part of the city center juz beside Seine river, some of the buildings have totally different things underneath them as there are a lot of past historical stuff , some have undergrd ancient Roman Common Bath facility, etc. And interesting places are Saint-Michel juz beside Seine river, Saint Chapelle , musee de cluny, theatre de l'odeon etc. All pretty nice place if u have more days to spend in Paris (maybe next time when u two going for another trip? )How i know this? Well, i haven't had the chance to travel there(though planning a backpack trip now). Just recommendations by my french tutor, a local there... Cheers. |

The haze is probably the steam/smoke from the restaurant thats on the 2nd level. And you have a 'hot' pixel. Taken from 'Tour Montparnasse' on the other side of the city from the Effiel tower. Tour Montparnasse is probably the only really tall building in 'central' Paris (The bit inside the old city walls). They don't generally allow high rise development, they are 'preserving' the old city - the sky scrappers are out side the city wall. We'll be gong back - not for as long, but passing through and seeing the odd place or to. The 'cable' care thing is a 'funicular', its pretty well technology wise a lift or elavator but on its side. They predate escalators, we saw quite a few along the southern coasts on England, hauling people up the sides of cliffs. Some were even called 'lifts' instead of Funiculars'. Lyon even has 2 funiculars that are intergrated into their public transport system and not just tourist attractions. The Paris Montmartre looks odd in that they recently completely rebuilt it using modern technology. It's a startard 'metro' trip to ride it. These days you would just build an escalator. (They did in Barcelona, to get up to Parc Güell, a series of outdoor escalators up the centre of a narrow laneway). The trails in the sky we saw all over Europe, they are just passing commercial jets - the turbulance causes water vapour to condense and leaves a small cloud behind. Quite noticable in London and Paris presumably due to the very large amount of air traffic to those cities and the generally cold air. If you thought Paris was cold in September, try January when we were there :-) |

London's medieval city burned down, I don't know what the French excuse was. We went to Lyon when in France, 600Km from Paris but only 2 hours on the train - parts of Lyon's medieval city have survived, even some Roman parts - the main amphitheatre complex is still used for performances, although it is a bit worse for wear after 2000 years :-) Our departmental admin assistant at work has sung in a concert at the Lyon Roman amphitheatre. Great place to visit if you like history. |

Paris my favourite City!!!!
Morocco is a very good place where u can get shots which are non-touristy. The people there pose really genuinely for u and the desert is beautiful. Imagine seeing sunrise and the moon together in the desert. Very good place to do portrait shots and night shots because the people there are darn frenly and their nite markets are like 10 times the size of our pasar malam. they sell exotic stuff too ![]() |
