Default Singapore Zheng He 600th Anniversary Celebrations

Two shots to share from the Zheng He 600th Anniversary Celebrations outdoor performances taken on 3 July 2005 when I'm near Marina Promenade taking photos of the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival.

Kudos to the performers dancing and acting under the extremely hot afternoon.

That's why I am puzzled by this event.
Most probable reason is that He thinks BIG (heard that He is a Big Dreamer!) and Singapore is just a little red dot or some oversea Chinese call us PeaSai. But look on the bright side, do you want our little island to be known as Chinapore and us as Chinaporean? ...

How to be Chinapore leh ...

Singapore is the anglicised version of the Singapura, which is the actual name.

Singapura, if I'm not mistaken, is in Sanskrit, which means Lion City.

So if Zheng He discovered the island it would not be called Chinapore but will be another name.

I'm not too sure but this island could already be known as Singapura when Zheng He sailed passed it.
