De Gea blow confirmed
Spain have confirmed David De Gea has suffered an injury and could miss the rest of the World Cup's group stage.
The holders suffered a crushing 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands on Friday and face a real challenge to progress with much-fancied Chile up next in a crucial fixture this Wednesday.
Real Madrid's Iker Casillas endured a difficult night against the Dutch, being dispossessed by Robin van Persie for the second of the United striker's goals, and there had been speculation he may be replaced by either Pepe Reina or De Gea.
However, an official statement by the RFEF (the Royal Spanish Football Federation) has confirmed: "After undergoing tests, it was decided that David de Gea would not take part in the team's afternoon training session owing to muscle discomfort in the gluteal region.
"The Spanish national team's medical services will evaluate day-by-day the goalkeeper's recovery to determine his reincorporation into the group."
Vicente del Bosque's men will finish their Group B programme against Australia.

Fellaini scores in Belgium victory
Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini made a crucial difference to his country's World Cup opener on Tuesday, scoring as an impact substitute in Belgium's 2-1 win over Algeria.
The Belgians were still trailing to a first-half penalty by Sofiane Feghouli when Fellaini entered the fray in the 65th minute, to beef up the attack for manager Marc Wilmots. Just five minutes after replacing Moussa Dembele, the United midfielder met a brilliant cross by Kevin De Bruyne and beat Algerian goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi with a fine header.
Fellaini was denied a second goal by a decent save as the Belgians continued to assert themselves, in stark contrast to a disappointing first period when Feghouli's spot-kick in the 25th minute - after being fouled himself by Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen - gave Algeria a shock lead.
To address it in the second half, Wilmots made his maximum three changes, with Dries Martens coming on for Nacer Chadli at the restart and Divock Origi preceding Fellaini onto the pitch as replacement for Romelu Lukaku, the Chelsea striker who spent last season on loan at Everton. United's Adnan Januzaj therefore remained on the bench in Belo Horizonte as an unused sub.
Belgium's winner came 10 minutes from time, when De Bruyne's well-timed tackle turned defence into a lightning counter-attack. Eden Hazard's pass picked out Martens and the latter finished the sweeping move in style by smashing a rising shot beyond Mbolhi.
The next Group H fixture for Fellaini and co could prove to be another tough one, as they face Fabio Capello's Russia in Rio at 17:00 BST on Sunday.

Spain lose grip on World Cup
World Cup holders Spain have been knocked out of the 2014 finals with a game still to play, following a shock 2-0 defeat to Chile at the Maracana Stadium.
Juan Mata was an unused substitute and David De Gea not considered due to injury as one of the favourites for the trophy suffered a second successive reverse after being hammered 5-1 by the Netherlands last Friday.
Chile started brightly, almost scoring from their first attack, and maintained an incredible level of intensity in their play. Eduardo Vargas edged the South Americans in front with a calmly-taken finish following a slick move, touching the ball past Iker Casillas and finding the net as Sergio Ramos closed in.
A second goal arrived two minutes before the interval when livewire Alexis Sanchez's free-kick was straight at Casillas but the Spanish captain only punched it away and Charles Aranguiz returned it past the keeper's left hand.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque preferred Koke to Mata as Xabi Alonso's half-time replacement and, after Sergio Busquets missed a sitter, Fernando Torres was his second substitute. Roared on by the majority of the near-74,000 crowd, Chile stuck to their task manfully.
Mauricio Isla could not keep an effort down at full stretch, with the goal gaping, and Mata was kept waiting for an appearance in Brazil as Arsenal's Santi Cazorla came on for Pedro. Claudio Bravo denied Andres Iniesta with a top-drawer save with time running out as Chile clinched a famous victory to join the Netherlands, who have also now qualified, on six points in Group B.
