Default Has anybody personally used a F828 in a studio?

I've read around the forum about several cameras that can be used in studios with slave lighting even though the cameras are only prosumers and not DSLR. Frequently references were made to the F828 but I was wondering if anybody has actually used this camera in a studio for portrait or fashion photography whilst utilising slave lighting etc.

I'm asking this because I am hoping to move into the fashion/studio side pf photography (as pro as I can get) but I have only ever really done outdoor photography and was wondering whether I need to look at getting a different camera for the studio or if the F828 will do the job OK.

Any advice or info would be great.

My first studio shoot was with my F717. It works well like all DSLR does, you just need to get used to the shutter lag, the only available light source is from the modelling lamp.

you can lah, just get a PC Sync adapter for the F828...

i din use it for portrait, use it for product shoot instead, due to its limitation of F8, i guess you have to use a light meter to reduce the light intensity to F8 or wider...

thanks guys, is there a particualr type of PC Sync adapter that I should be looking for? I can't find one that seems to be specific to the F828. Also I was checking out light meters on ebay (only to see what cheap stuff was out there) and saw that many are quite expensive, but this one is dirt cheap, does that mean that it is not very useful... never used one before?

DIGITAL LUX LIGHT METER

thanks again for the help

that light meter is to test for the brightness level, not in terms of our photography light meter.

a cheap & good digital meter would be from Polaris, not sure where can you get from Australia, but if you can find a cheap Minolta would be great.

The PC sync terminal is used if you using a sync cord from the studio flash to your F828, if you using wireless, infra or RF trigger, most use standard ISO shoe, so it can fit to the F828 hotshoe directly, no need for the PC sync adapter, just buy for emergency use.

too bad u in aust, else we can go for outing & talk about this face to face.

There is always risk getting used light meter. Must know how to test before you consider getting a used one.

A new Minolta cost around 700+ sing right?

fastest way is to test with the camera's spot meter.. hehe.. but not as accurate as using another light meter to test...
