Suggestions for indoor sport photos

Hello Experts...

Can you suggest some options and settings that I should be trying to use on a Panasonic FZ5 when shooting an indoor basketball game ?

Last time i tried a couple of different shutter priority mode and found that the images were not bright and when edited on PC, was a lot grainy..

is the burst mode a good option to use ?

pour in your suggestions please..
