hi guys... just try taking nite shots with my c4000... the results make me confused on what's the capability of my cam..
Below are a few different photos taken with different mode. Mode: Manual Shutter: 10s Aperture: 2.8 Exposure: -0.3 One point to note: when i use manu mode to take my nite shots... there are very visible dots in my photo.. ![]() |

can someone pls advice if these nite shots photo i took is considered 'passed' for a 4.0mp cam? And in what areas should i improve? |

The DC should have Noise Reduction.....I'm wondering if the NR needs to be activated manually in M mode???

Noise reduection must be on manually.... the moise reduction does the job for my C-4000z.... i shoot at ISO 400 i can even see the noise in the LCD then after NR Poof all gone
then double check in my desktop it's clean 0 Noise. And in nightshot mode maybe they already enabled NR just a guess didn't go and try that out yet... |

I didn't get to see the images. Too long to download. But if noise is really the issue here, shoot at a lower ISO and use a good stable tripod.

You don't need the AE Lock in M mode, because your exposure settings will never change automatically untill you change them (manual, remember?). Focus on something that you want your expoure settings to be based on, enable AEL then compose your picture. I believe you can use it on P/A/S modes. BTW, I'm using the C-720UZ but I believe the functionality of the AEL should be similar. It also uses the custom button. "AE Memory" in the form of "My Mode" in my camera.
