    Default Mental fitness evaluation

This test is to ascertain your mental state now.

There are 4 questions. Donít miss one.

    1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator? Stop and think about it and decide on your answer before you scroll down.

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

    2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator? Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

    3. The Lion King is hosting an Animal Conference. All the animals attend ...except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer : The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory.

Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

    4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer:? You jump into the river and swim across. Havenít you been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Conference. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the Retirees they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively proves the theory that most Retirees do not have the brains of a four-year-old.

    This is old.

I've never heard it linked to any consulting firm though, it was more of a trick series of questions..

Fact is, I don't know any refrigerator that can hold an elephant or a giraffe.

I did not answer any of the questions, goes to show that I am an adult & mature enough to ignore silly test questions. Only a 4 year old would believe he can put a giraffe or elephant in a refrigerator. Indeed I am relieved to know I do not have the brains of a child & act like a child, maybe when I reach a 100 perhaps, when I get into my 2nd childhood Feel sorry for consulting firms if they indeed came up with such tests, they should have their mental fitness rechecked!

All the refrigerator can hold an elephant or a giraffe but you need to kill it and cut it into tiny pieces

Who came to this question in the first place? I have heard about the idea that old folks and kids have certain ways of thinking in common (we know that grandparents and grandchildren usually get along very well), but to simplify it this way rather says something about the person coming up with the 'test'. Using the name of any big consultancy companies is typical for spam and hoaxes.
Secondly, the questions are old and well known. In order to really get any useful data the questions / problems presented must be new and unique to the tested person. The moment our brain can fall back to known facts and memories the test is useless.

so those who can get the question correct, are thinking like kids?

    i agree with S1121ljc.

children have simpler minds. they'll just think "i'll just put it in the box", not "it will fit into the box".

if you have kids or have taken care of kids, you'll know that they try to squeeze everything into one small space and wonder why it won't close.

adults on the other hand, already know the relation between Size of an Object and Size of Storage. obviously they would think otherwise.

and btw Uncle Fai...this was from a joke book, not any scientific study. to use it for a scientific study (or any other study) would be a joke in itself
