In comparison, the probably more superior Leica 50/1.0 is less than $3k used at TCW.... hey, for once, Leica is cheaper.

the 50mm 1.0 is available NEW..at all place..mustafa..y'know, the big discount store in serangoon. amidst all the no name p&s cams..there it lies, like a gleaming jewel.

no price tag on it(only serious buyers need ask), but prob arounf 5k?

    all the same...damn power!

but the leica set...think its very rare. well maybe can sell hdb flat but the set than go wandering around taking pictures...

You can get a used one for < $3000. Last saw at TCW. Smaller and Cuter somemore.

    Anyway, from b&h photo:

    Leica 50mm f/1.0 Noctilux : US$2695
    Canon EF 50mm f/1.0L USM : US$2599

So they are actually about the same cost new.

rare in the sense it's probably not a heavy demand system, so u dun see it displayed in any photo store much....

but it's not rare as in discontinued - those are in production lenses for the Leica R SLR system.

I always have the impression that the Leica logo looks like Coca Cola one. :P

hmm well OT a bit... if the olydak 4/3 thing gets off... we will be seeing lot of f1.0s at human prices soon... since the area is much smaller...

OT more: f1.0 is 100% light transfer right? so <1.0 is impossible?
