mm...hi all,
I don't get it. How do you all manage to find such unique subjects and take such breathtaking pics ?? Unless you are nature lovers who know where to look. Will my FZ5 be able to do such shots or do I need to add an additional macro lens?
wow...

Not sure abt Fz5....but I think it can w/o and it will be even better with....depends what you want to take....

hi thanks for the reply
issue is the FZ10 and FZ20 both have manual focus. I guess that makes it easier for difficult focussing situations like macro mode.
so far I have attempted on a coin and the results are quite bad..but of course I probably need to join a PLUG session and get tips from gurus like yourself first..heh heh

Using AF is still able to be done, AF it or around subject to fix focus, with half shutter still depress(i.e. focus lock), move camera until subject is sharp, and snap.

I happen to chance this thread. I think the fZ5 can do a pseudo MF by using your "Focus" button?

Hey friend,

Need a tutor like you in macro shots..

I just got my Nikon 6T.. but I realise that not much different also although we attach the close up filter.. wat i mean is the object doesn't really enlarge.. wat should I do?

I need your technique in Close Up Filter.. Did you full 12x tele to your subject? or only 3x zoom? or totally full wide angle..

Regarding your Sigma CU, may I know wat is the magnification value?

I would be glad to hear your reply.. thanks!

The Nikon 6T works best for SLR lenses >200mm, so for the FZ, the higher the X the better. I normally use 12x or around 8x-12x ...no fix rules. It should give a better magnification. Once the x is chosen, the working distance (WD: distance from lens to subject) would be fix. For my camera, at 12x, WD is 29cm.

Normally, I use MF, fix the focus and move the camera quickly to the WD. Once that is obtain, I will do the 'fine tuning' by swaying my body with camera to and fro until the subject eyes are sharp, than snap!

The Sigma CU is a +1.6 filter, and is similar to the Nikon 5T (+1.5).

I had the Sigma CU lens from my SLR days when I got my Sigma 70-300mm APO lens, and it enable the 1:2 lens to go to 1:1 with the filter at full zoom. So I saw someone else use it with good effect with the 6T, and so I got the 6T. Its more like "since I have it might as well use it"...and it seems to work well for me.
If I remember correctly (got it in 1998) it cost S$50.

I said..."during my SLR days..." I used to be using SLR, now is FZ10.....

Bounce card no fix size, I just agar agar cut to fit my camera bag. Its roughly abt 17cm by 9cm wide. Bigger can be better.
