Her caveat was that this was in the mid to late 90s.

She hasn't been working in industry since 1997.

We claim to be first world country.

But we cannot even get a simple car barrier at Woodlands right. And after the criminal bashed through the police can take their own sweet time (4 plus hours) to slowly approach taxi drivers to help them locate the gold mercedes with shredded tyres. There was no car chase, no road blocks by police cars for something so easy to spot.

So her criticism may have been on solid evidence (at least one case) in the 1990's or else she would not mention it.

This gal is bullshitting. Even in the 90s, our SIA has one of the best maintenance regime.

I got friends in the civil aviation industries since 90s, and they can vouch for SIA (they don't work for SIA).

Our planes are never older than 9-10 years. It's like our cars, lifespan max to 10 years. And other airlines just love to buy our 2nd hand planes because they are so well maintained and still relative new.

I don't wan to go into details of our SIA maintenance here. But take it from me. Not many airlines can match our standards.

I don't think she is referring to SIA when she talked about bad parts and maintenance.

Maybe some of the shops in Seletar in 1990's?

wow she's accusing non US and non European airlines/countries of using inferior counterfeit parts ?

but arent we flying planes built in the US and Europe in the first place ???

and by country and homebase of airline....... the US seems to be the capital of non-terrorist commercial air disasters by a long mile

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...rcial_aircraft

if i can help it, I would never fly on a US carrier nowadays no matter how cheap the ticket is ..... every flight has got a bull's eye pasted on its back with too many enemies around the world to be safe flying on an American carrier .... no need to talk about maintenance or parts ..... thats why security on US flights so fricking tight and yah they have no choice but be #1 in terms of security because of this

US military aircraft found to have counterfeit parts too. Supply chain issues.

A lady who think that US are best in everything including their aircraft industry (& their products etc)?
Had worked on aircraft line before, some of their recent newly factory output aircraft had quite bad workmanship (area not installed properly etc) and parts can breakdown/break/fail within short lifespan too.
